This Friday (yes, BLACK FRIDAY!!) there will be a celebration and gathering of folks to hang out and celebrate the free exchange of lovely and fun things, rather than partaking in the holiday consumer craze that happens every year on the day after Thanksgiving. Details are still forthcoming, so stay tuned.
And on a side note, the Really Really Free Market that’s been taking place at Pratt Park every last Saturday of the month will be postponed until January (or perhaps later). It’s the cold season, and we’d like to get more organized before we get back into it. If you’re in the area and on the look out for free groceries, you can attend the Food Not Bombs Saturday Free Market – “Each week, FNB members and individuals from Yesler Terrace — a government housing complex — collect food donated from local co-ops and distribute it at the Yesler Terrace Community Center (917 E Yesler Way) at noon. Occasionally other household goods are donated for distribution. Please contact seattle-fnb@riseup.net or call (206) 729-0384 if interested.” (taken from seattle food not bombs webpage)
