The venerable and crusty punk house FBK (originally “the Fire Breathing Kangaroo” – just to be annoying and poke fun at the long history of dumb punk house names that everyone’s lived at) has been hosting shows for a long time, and this is going to be a great cross section of some of the stuff that’s gone on there. RVIVR is a rad pop punk band that blends east-coast style anthems with west coast sentimental sensibilities (think early Hot Water Music meets Jawbreaker) and also clearly rep their back-woods Olympia home in a way that makes it so I can’t help but think about permaculture farms and home brew. Shamefully I’m not too familiar with Filth Matress, who I hear rule, but I’m also excited about The Witches Of, a two-piece that combines Bratmobile style guitar and singing with technical and dancey druming. This show will be all over the place, but definitely totally awesome.
