In a nutshell, this compilation will be predominantly spoken word pieces that can have any assortment of accompaniment with it. Has anyone ever heard of a band called Kicking Giant? There’s this absolutely brilliant spoken word song called The Town Idiot that is pretty much my favorite spoken word song / piece ever (aside from everything that I’ve seen Elissa Ball present as of lately).

You don’t have to be a band, established or recognized artist to do this. If you are thinking about submitting anything, you should probably just do it.

This is a good thing.

Last years’ Carousel Fest was great. It was great because of the bands and venues both mostly because we had some fucking-amazing volunteers. Take Chloe, Susanna and Mike-for example (pictured above from right to left). They were so into volunteering and having fun doing it. Just look at those fun poses!

two dear friends of the diy community, patrick and fin, were arrested late sunday night. they are being held in the jail downtown and have a hearing tomorrow, july 13th, at 2:30pm. the judge will decide if they can be released on bail.

this page will be updated with information about their situation after the hearing.

(and remember that folks arrested at the april 9th march have another pre-trial hearing on monday, july 19th at 10am in room 1103. hopefully it will be their last!)
